At Guardian Funeral Home, care and respect begin from the very first moment the deceased is transferred from their place of death
Funeral Preparations and Embalming
Our staff are fully trained to carry out transfers with dignity and compassion, whether the place of death is a private residence, hospital, or public location.
This dedication to care continues through every step of the funeral preparation. Once notified of a death, we will ask if you would like embalming. We always seek your verbal consent before proceeding and are here to support you in this decision. Your comfort and wishes are our priority.
Our skilled embalmers ensure the utmost professionalism and respect in preparing the person in our care.
Every individual is treated with the same respect, dignity, and sensitivity we would offer our own family. Preparation for viewings, including dressing and grooming is a vital part of this process.
Our mortuary care aims to present the person in a safe, clean, and hygienic manner.
Clothing and Dressing
Before spending time with the person in our care, we will ask you to provide the clothing you would like them to wear. Be sure to include all necessary items, such as undergarments.
In most cases, our team will dress your loved one and place them in their casket. However, if cultural practices or personal wishes call for it, families are welcome to assist us, or to carry out the process themselves.
We encourage family involvement and will only step in with your consent. If you wish to participate in dressing, please let us know as soon as possible so we can support you appropriately.
